Ich fühle mich zutiefst geehrt und bin dankbar, ein Begünstigter und Absolvent der Siaya Kenya Children Foundation (SKCF) zu sein. Mit ihrer Unterstützung habe ich 2013 die Barding Boys High School besucht und 2017 meine Sekundarschulausbildung erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Die SKCF stand mir auch während meines Studiums an der Universität von Eldoret zur Seite, wo ich einen Bachelor of Science in Angewandter Statistik mit Informatik absolvierte, und sorgte dafür, dass finanzielle Herausforderungen meiner Ausbildung oder meinen Träumen nie im Wege standen.
Die Unterstützung der Stiftung ging weit über die Zahlung der Schulgebühren hinaus. Durch Mentoring, Ermutigung und ein starkes Gemeinschaftsgefühl gab mir die SKCF das Selbstvertrauen, nach Spitzenleistungen zu streben und an eine bessere Zukunft zu glauben.
Heute arbeite ich als Junior-Datenanalyst und denke oft darüber nach, wie die Unterstützung durch SKCF diesen Weg möglich gemacht hat. Die Ausbildung, Disziplin und Werte, die ich dank ihrer Unterstützung erworben habe, bilden nach wie vor die Grundlage für alle Chancen, die sich mir bieten.
SKCF feiert 20 Jahre, in denen es Leben verändert hat, und ich bin ein lebender Beweis für seine Wirkung. Mein Weg von der High School zur Universität, der durch die unermüdliche Unterstützung von SKCF ermöglicht wurde, ist der Beweis dafür, dass die Möglichkeiten unbegrenzt sind, wenn einem Kind Hoffnung gegeben wird.
Ich bin den Gründern, Sponsoren und dem gesamten SKCF-Team aufrichtig dankbar für ihr Engagement, junge Menschen zu stärken und Leben zu verändern.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch an SKCF zu zwei Jahrzehnten, in denen Hoffnung Wirklichkeit geworden ist. Möge die Organisation auch in den nächsten 20 Jahren viele weitere Kinder inspirieren, ermutigen und stärken.

I am Josephine Awuor, a former SKCF Beneficiary and a godchild to adorable godmother – Ms. Hedi Allseits. To give brief background information of myself, I am a lady aged 20 years, currently studying at the university pursuing a course leading to Bachelor Degree of Education Arts.
I am the second born in a family of three siblings (all ladies). I grew up under the care of my grandmother who passed away while I was seven years of age and a standard one pupil. The world didn’t give me an opportunity to see my parents… I’ve only lived with aunties and uncles. My education had been smooth until I joined Secondary School. In Kenya, Primary Education is free and so only little amount of money was needed which my guardian could afford. However Secondary Education demands a lot of money as well as university.
I reported to Secondary School I was called three days after the official reporting day reason being I was sent back home with my uncle who had accompanied me for the principal couldn’t allow me to be admitted due to unpaid school fee, though through the struggles of my uncle I was later admitted. All was not well as I could be frequently sent back home for school fees… I vividly recall an incident when I was in Form Two, First Term when the school principal sent me home to collect school fee, came back with what my uncle could afford at the moment but only for her to send me back again.
It was at this time that my class teacher intervened in my situation. Being a friend to the SKCF – Chairman, Mr Odiang’a, He directed me to him. I met with Mr Odiang’a and explained to him my predicament. Luckily he accepted to sponsor me through SKCF.He later introduced me to my now godmother, Ms Hedi Allseits – a good mother with a good heart.
Since I got the sponsorship, I never had any challenge to do with school fee, not even at the university level as Mum Hedi has been taking care of my university education. I have seen many university students differ their studies due to school fees but I have been safe. I thank God for depositing such a treasure into my life when I least expected.
It has now been my dream and a dream that must come true… a dream to trace back my roots in SKCF and also support the needy students of SKCF.
I would like to offer my heartfelt appreciation to you and the whole fraternity of SKCF, just to mention but a few, Ms. Hedi Allseits, Mr. Charles Cornu, Ms.Annaleman, among others for their tremendous support towards this organization and for always paying us visits to Kenya – a rare thing that other organizations do. I am hoping to meet you come January. May God continuously bless the work of your hands. AMEN!
